FAA Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) CARDIFF Holiday Inn Cardiff City Centre, Castle Street, Cardiff, CF10 1XD Course Summary FAA Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 4 Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague. ​ This awareness course is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help. ​ All members of the public can benefit from this course and it is a great stepping stone into First Aid for Mental Health. Course Contents A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including: • What is First Aid for Mental Health? • Identifying mental health conditions • Providing advice and starting a conversation Certification Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)/Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 4. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years. Duration A minimum of 4 hours in one session. Ideally, the course should be run over one day, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire providing it is completed within 10 weeks of starting the course and the training sessions last for a minimum of two hours. Further Information Duration: half-day (4 hours) Group size: 16 Candidates per 1 Trainer/Assessor Assessment method: The qualification is assessed through a multiple-choice question paper. No external assessors are required. Pre-requisite: None Suggested progression: recommended annual refresher training; mandatory requalification training every three years;

Cancellation Policy

Transfers of Dates Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer course dates the following charges will apply, dependent on the notice given: • First transfer, made more than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks notice given - 25% of the course fee • Less than two weeks notice given - 50% of the course fee All transfers must be within a period of six months. Cancellations Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply: • More than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks prior to the course - 50% of the course fee • Less than two weeks prior to the course - full fee Cancellation must be made in writing by post, fax or email and received by the due date.
