Course Discription
FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) BIRMINGHAM Hilton Garden Inn, 1 Brunswick Square, Birmingham, B1 2HW Candidates successfully completing this course will be entitled to act as a first aider in the workplace. This Emergency First Aid at Work course may be more suitable whereby a needs assessment has identified a low-risk work environment. This course complies with the Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 (Appendix 6 Content of an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course) Note: The Emergency First Aid at Work course is unit 1 and day 1 of the First Aid at Work 3 day course Course Contents This course covers a range of topics, including (but not limited to) the following: Responsibilities and reporting Assessing the situation Incident management and priorities of First Aid Unresponsive Casualties Resuscitation and AED awareness Control of bleeding and shock Choking Common illnesses and injuries such as burns, epilepsy, and broken bones Certification Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, and a three year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours. Duration A minimum of six contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities, plus some pre-course activity could be required. Ideally, the course should be run over one day, but can be spread over a longer time period if you so desire, providing it is completed within 4 weeks of starting the course and the training sessions last for a minimum of two hours. Cancellation Policy
Transfers of Dates Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer course dates the following charges will apply, dependent on the notice given: • First transfer, made more than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks notice given - 25% of the course fee • Less than two weeks notice given - 50% of the course fee All transfers must be within a period of six months. Cancellations Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply: • More than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks prior to the course - 50% of the course fee • Less than two weeks prior to the course - full fee Cancellation must be made in writing by post, fax or email and received by the due date.
