FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) GLASGOW DoubleTree Hilton Glasgow Central, 36 Cambridge St, Glasgow, G2 3HN Course Summary Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague. This course builds on the Level 2/5 Award in First Aid for Mental Health and covers a wider range of mental health conditions and goes into detail on the range of therapy and professional support that a person may be given by professional bodies during treatment for a mental health condition. The course is suitable for all persons within a workplace but is aimed at those who hold a supervisory/managerial level position and who have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture and responsibility for First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation. Course Contents A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including: • What is First Aid for Mental Health? • Identifying mental health conditions • Providing advice and starting a conversation • Stress • Mental health conditions • Drugs and alcohol • First Aid for Mental Health action plan • First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace • Depression • Post-traumatic stress disorder • Self-harm • Suicide • Eating disorders • Personality disorders • Bipolar disorder • Psychosis • Schizophrenia • Anxiety Certification Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)/Award in Leading First Aid in Mental Health at SCQF Level 6. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. Duration A minimum of 12 hours spread over at least two days. Ideally, the course should be run over two consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire. Further Information Duration: two-days (12 hours) Group size: 16 Candidates per 1 Trainer/Assessor Assessment method: Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with a written assessment on each day. Pre-requisite: None Suggested progression: • recommended annual refresher training; • mandatory requalification training every three years;
Cancellation Policy
Transfers of Dates Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer course dates the following charges will apply, dependent on the notice given: • First transfer, made more than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks notice given - 25% of the course fee • Less than two weeks notice given - 50% of the course fee All transfers must be within a period of six months. Cancellations Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply: • More than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks prior to the course - 50% of the course fee • Less than two weeks prior to the course - full fee Cancellation must be made in writing by post, fax or email and received by the due date.
