Enteral (PEG) Feeding
This course is designed for healthcare professionals and caregivers who support individuals requiring enteral feeding through a Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tube. Participants will gain knowledge of the principles and practical techniques of PEG feeding, ensuring safe and effective administration of nutrition, hydration, and medication. The course covers care and maintenance of the PEG tube, recognising and managing complications, and delivering person-centred support that promotes dignity and quality of life. By the end, attendees will feel confident in their ability to provide safe, effective, and compassionate PEG feeding care. Key Learning Objectives: Understand the Basics of Enteral Feeding: Learn what PEG feeding is and when it is required. Understand the role of enteral feeding in maintaining nutrition and hydration. Gain Knowledge of PEG Tube Management: Identify the components of a PEG tube and their functions. Understand how to clean, maintain, and care for the PEG tube to prevent complications. Assessment
The instructor conducts a single written assessments at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a three-year Level 3 Award in Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults (Level 6 in Scotland). No external assessors are required for this qualification.
Duration
The course requires a minimum of 7 hours, distributed over the day. While it is ideal to complete the course in one day, we can adjust the schedule to suit your specific needs, as long as the course is completed within 3 weeks of starting and each training session lasts at least two hours.

Certification Validity
This qualification has no formal expiry, however regular CPD and updates are recommended.
