Course Summary
FAA Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF)
You are likely aware of the potentially devastating impact workplace fires can have, including loss of life, injuries, property damage, environmental harm, and business disruption. It is widely recognized that most fires are preventable, and fire safety is emphasized by health and safety legislation, which requires employers to implement policies, procedures, and appropriate training for employees.
This Fire Safety Training Course is designed for employees looking to enhance their basic fire safety knowledge and assist their employer by taking on specific fire safety responsibilities, such as acting as fire wardens, marshals, or stewards. Successful candidates will receive a nationally recognized Level 2 qualification (Level 5 in Scotland).
Course Contents
A range of subjects are covered including:
The hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
How fire risk is controlled in the workplace
The role of the nominated fire warden
The principles and practice of fire safety management at work
Assessment
The instructor conducts a single written assessments at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a three-year Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (Level 5 in Scotland). No external assessors are required for this qualification.
Duration
The course requires a minimum of 6 hours, distributed over the day. While it is ideal to complete the course in one day, we can adjust the schedule to suit your specific needs, as long as the course is completed within 3 weeks of starting and each training session lasts at least two hours.
Certification Validity
This qualification has no formal expiry, however regular CPD and updates are recommended.
Further Information - Course Numbers
A maximum of 16 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.
